3, 2, Croatia, START!

Here we go again on the adventure!

We didn't need much time to think about the next destination and the first vacation of this kind - the first motorcycle tour outside the country. For this initiation into the world of motorcycle adventures, we chose Croatia as destination; a country that I have visited in the past and which remained deeply embedded in my heart. The ideal time to visit this country is May, and we chose to leave in the second half of the month.

In short, the chosen route was Romania - Serbia - Croatia - Bosnia & Herzegovina - Serbia - Romania and we were away from May 18th to June 2nd.

Broadly speaking, we made 14-16 days available, with the possibility of making some changes to the plan in case the weather does not keep up with us or certain unforeseen situations arise. The initial itinerary is always ideal and condensed, and that's why we didn't make any accommodation reservations until 1-2 days before arriving to the next destination. Due to the weather and the fatigue accumulated from the desire to do and see as many things as possible, we made some changes to the initial plan. In the end, the real and do-able itinerary was the following:

Day 1: Romania – Belgrade ~ 600km, 9h

Day 2: visit Belgrade

Day 3: Belgrade – Zagreb ~400km, 4h

Day 4: visit Zagreb

Day 5: Zagreb – Pula ~270km, 3.5h, visit Pula

Day 6: day visit Rovinj, evening departure to Rijeka ~110km, 1.5h

Day 7: visit Rijeka

Day 8: Rijeka – Zadar ~220km, 4h, visit Zadar

Day 9: visit Krka National Park

Day 10: day of relaxation and the beach on the island of Vir in Zadar

Day 11: Zadar – Plitvice ~170km, 2.5h, visit Plitvice

Day 12: Plitvice – Dubrovnik ~450km, 5h

Day 13: visit Dubrovnik

Day 14: Dubrovnik – Sarajevo ~240km, 4.5h, visit Sarajevo in the evening

Day 15: Sarajevo – Craiova ~660km, 10h

Day 16: Craiova – Bucharest ~240km, 3.5h

At the end of the trip, of course we "rushed" home and covered several kilometers at once. But we were able to do this program without problems and stress, without being pressed by time, without waking up at the same time as the roosters, without skipping the eating breaks and enjoy coffee and without missing anything we planned to visit.

Also, the estimated hours are ideal. When you are riding a motorcycle and you have a longer journey of 3-4 hours to cover, every 3 hours you will have to add 1 hour more for rest breaks. Of course, if you have a bottom of steel, you probably won't need this 😊) For example, the return trip from Sarajevo estimated at 10h, we did it in 13h. And if it had rained... we probably wouldn't have gotten that close to home anyway and would have stopped somewhere in Serbia 😊)

For an even longer description of this route, I invite you to walk the whole adventure together, each day separately. At the end, I will also summarize the costs of this trip, divided by category, and I will present other details that you should consider if you plan to visit these countries.
