Jordan - Aqaba, the place for the rich and famous

Aqaba is the most famous city of Jordan. This is due to its opulent resorts, various options for nightlife, sweeping beaches at the Red Sea, and its marina which houses mostly luxury yachts. It is considered a playground for the rich and famous of the Middle East.

Alongside Wadi Rum and Petra, Aqaba is the third location on the map which creates Jordan's golden triangle of tourism.

We stayed two nights in the resorts area, outside of the city, at Tala Bay. It's a quiet and coquet area, where you can enjoy the beach almost alone, or a cup of coffee in silence with some blues music on the background by the Red Sea, or shop traditional products and artizanal pieces from their stores.

It's not much to suggest here; just relax during the day and have fun during the night. There are also boat trips available on the Red Sea. City center is full of cafes, bars, restaurants and shisha pubs. I could not pass up the opportunity to smoke shisha in a Middle East country :)) even more when, comparing to my country, shisha is very cheap here (4-6 JOD).

During the day, the center of Aqaba is full of people, the beaches are also crowded with people. You'd believe they would sunbath on the beach, but actually nobody was doing this. Most of the muslim mothers (covered from head to toes) and their children were standing on carpets under the shadow of the umbrellas making picnics, and men were occupied with other activities such as renting boats, fishing, playing games, smoking shisha on the beach, etc.

At night the city comes to life, even louder than during the day, with music and lights. People are changing their location from beach to pubs and start the parties.

So if you are looking for a place where luxury is at its highest, parties are at their loudest and cafes are at their finest, this is the city for you in Jordan.
