Tenerife - Los Gigantes & Charco el Diablo

        Los Gigantes

        We stopped at Miraduro de Los Gigantes to take some pictures but personally, I did not find it so astonishing as described. We wanted to take a boat and go whale and dolphin watching but after reading the reviews we changed our minds. It seems that most people get sea sick and for 2 hours they are stuck on the boat vomiting and even if they don’t, it is disturbing for the other people. 😖

        Maybe the great stone formations would have looked nicer if we would travel closer to them but we decided to go the opposite dirrection. There is a free parking 🚙 between Playa de Santiago and Playa Neptuno. We left the car there and spent some time on the rocks from the right side of the parking lot. They looked like lava waves that cooled once they reached the ocean. There were great waves here and we took our time to enjoy their beauty. 🌊

        Charco el Diablo / Cueva la Vaca

        To acces some really astonishing lava rock formations and natural pools you will have to go through a neighbourhood of houses; you can find the street on Maps as: “Acceso a Charco el Diablo y Cueva la Vaca”. Charco el Diablo has the most magnificent natural pools in the whole Tenerife in my opinion. We spent more time at Cueva la Vaca where some people where climbing the highest rocks and jumped from them right in the ocean’s eye. 👁

Sao Miguel - King's view over a piece of Heaven

               On the west side of the island, you can find the most beautiful hike on the island. The trail starts at Miraduro Vista do Rei where you can admire the magnificent view of Lagoa das Sete Cidades crater lake. Translated, it means "the King's view"...indeed a landscape worthy of a king's eyes. It goes along the western edge of the volcano on a dirt road surrounded by fantastic vegetation. Miraduro Vista do Rei                This large depression on the top of Sete Cidades Volcano has an almost circular shape of around 5,3km in diameter. This volcanic caldera was formed at the time of a very explosive erruption followed by several eruptions that took place inside the caldera.
